Jon began his legal career in 1986 clerking for an intellectual property (IP) law firm and concurrently attending Wayne State University School of Law (Detroit, Michigan). Since then, Jon has devoted himself exclusively to the practice of IP law. After graduating from Law School in 1990, Jon remained in private practice until 1997 when he took a prestigious position as the head of IP for global automotive supplier Federal-Mogul Corporation (Southfield, Michigan). While at Federal-Mogul, Jon managed the company’s worldwide IP interests as well as an international staff. In 2004, Jon returned to private practice, and now serves as legal counsel to a wide spectrum of clients on matters of IP strategy and implementation. In 2012, Jon and business partner Brad Smith established Endurance Law Group PLC as a boutique IP practice in Jackson, Michigan. Jon is a frequent lecturer on IP topics and has authored several practical IP guides for entrepreneurs. He is also an amateur inventor/entrepreneur, holding numerous patents. Jon is the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for the Jackson Inventors Network, and was an Adjunct Professor at Michigan State University College of Law from 2009-2012 where he taught Patent Application Preparation. Jon received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lawrence Institute of Technology in 1986.
